RE: distance

Hi Doc,

A lot of people notice more distance with the TS clubs. Since the TS is
a training club, it is not that important to try and help mishit shots.
We have the CG higher that corresponds to more direct force during the
collision and a little more ball speed. Normal clubmakers can't do that
because it's too unpredictable during an actual round as most golfers
hit the ball all over the face.

Hope that makes sense!

Cheers and thank you for your support. Come visit Tetherow if you get
out my way.

Tour Striker Success

Ed,

That is fantastic news! Firstly, that you are feeling better and secondly, that the Tour Striker has helped you, a fine player, get his impact alignments in order!

Well done and sincere thanks for sending me a note.

Take care and thanks for your support,

Hi Martin,

I got some great news. I just started to get my game back in shape, I was down with a slight heart attack. I didn't play or swing a golf club in 5 weeks. When I got the Tour Striker I started to hit it every day. The results have been great. I played my first round on July 16, I hit some real crisp irons. Then I played on Monday July 19th. I got a hole in one. My third. A 7 iron 154 yards up hill and into a 8-10 mph wind. Overall the hole played 172 yards.

As I got older and more aches and pains I started to lose some distance with my irons. But since I started with the Tour Striker my iron distance is coming back.

Thank you,

Martin, just a quick "Thank you" as the TSPro arrived yesterday.. haven't given it a go yet with it, but last night I played in a 9 hole men's league, shot 39 lipping out 2 birds.  Generally played really well.  Used both the Reg Ts and the wedge in my warm ups, working on getting my impact better. Like a few others have mentioned I have picked up more right to left (draw) in my ball flight sometimes more than I am planning for.  Given my length off the tee ( not LONG by  any means but, I'm longer than the "average" player so I was hitting shorter clubs/wedges into holes more often, working with the wedge has been great as my wedge play was where the action had gotten more weak/not a real flip, but more of a no loft taken off kind of impact, with slightly fat shots 50% of the time.. the last 2 9's I have played That has been way better and my wedge play has been much sharper.. I totally give credit to the Tour striker for the positive changes..  Once I get to use the TS Pro I'll add to the conversation again on the thread.

Thanks again for all the help & generosity..

Well I got my tour Striker on Thursday and hit the range on Friday with it. have to say that I am impressed with it. after only 3 swings I connected and hit a nice draw at my normal 7 iron distance. after hitting a couple of good ones I had my wife try it. I know the club was not set up for her as it is a little longer and the wrong flex shaft but I figured what the heck. let me give you a little background on my wife's golf game. . she hits the driver long and straight with a nice high draw , putts and chips well. where she has struggled for the last couple of years is her irons, she has lost at least one club distance wise and maybe two in the irons from just a couple of years ago ( when she was striking the ball well but her chipping putting held her from shooting lower scores ) she tends to sweep the ball or hit behind it with the irons , resulting in lost distance . I have had people tell her her swing looks like Michelle Wie with less power. we have tried a bunch of drills to get her to take divot after the ball and nothing has helped her feel the proper descending strike. well here goes nothing , my wife steps up with the tour striker and as I feared ( due to her casting issue ) hits 8 poor shots that were worm burners. she then stopped dead in the middle of her next swing and turned to me with a smile . I asked her what she was smiling about after hitting 8 bad ones in a row .... she said she figured out why she was sweeping instead of hitting down on it. she took 2 practice swings beside the ball to try her swing thought . the next swing was a thing of beauty as I heard ball first , divot and watched a nice draw come off the club. she proceeded to hit a few good ones ( 3 or 4 ) in a row. I told her to hit her own 6 iron ( which by the way she hates as it gives her the most trouble) she picks up her own 6 iron and hits a nice draw that looked perfect. I asked her on a scale of 1 to 10 what was that first swing ? .... she said a 15 LOL ! after 2 more 6 irons that had a nice draw she moved to her 8 iron and the shot pattern had the same nice high draw. she then hit more balls with the the tour striker hitting a few bad ones with some good ones ( after each one saying I know what I did wrong and hitting the next one fine ) I have to honestly say that may have been one of the best range sessions ever for her irons . the only complaint that I have is that I may now have to sneak my tour striker out of my wife's bag as it seems to have found a home there ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha . sorry for the long post but I bought the tour striker hoping to get my iron game back and as it turns out it may have helped my wife out more than me. as I sat on the steel range bucket flipped upside down and watched her hit , I felt a sense of pride and well being. to end my review I do have to say that I hit my last 8 irons shots well , switching between my iron , 5 iron and gap wedge. my wife also hit her 6 iron ( after I convinced her to put the tour striker away ) to finish the range session hitting some nice iron shots. with continued practice with the tour striker to ingrain the proper feeling I would say that most golfers would benefit from this training aid. hope this review does not sound too over the top and full of you know what but this was our experience with the tour striker yesterday. to me it helps you feel the correct move into the ball and your body will figure out out how to get there. the dvd was clear and you broke down and demonstrated the segments of the swing and their order of importance. my bother lives near Seattle Washington, would love to hit you up for a lesson next time I am out that way. thank you again for making a tool that works , if you take the time and put some effort into it.

That is AWESOME!!!! Thanks for sharing...

RE: TourStriker

Wolfgang,

Great to hear from you. I was wondering how you were doing. I'm glad you
like the TSP and you've been able to work it into your routine. I'm
jealous that you got to play with Sergio. He is an awesome striker.

It sounds like you have some more fun adventures in the coming weeks.
Enjoy and take care.

Hi Martin,

I have finally mastered the TourStriker Pro. I hit it as good as my
Miura MC-102 7 iron. I have used it in practice rounds. Everytime I
practice I hit a lot of balls with the Pro. Even before each and every
round I hit the TourStriker. If I hit it well that gives the confidence
that I will be hitting my irons well. My ball striking has improved a
lot and my friend Andreas, the head pro at a Lindner Wiesensee resort,
alway wants to borrow my TS Pro.

On your website I found that you now have a TourStriker 5 iron and a
wedge. Would my ball striking improve if a add these clubs to my
practice routine.

Two weeks ago I played in the ProAm of the BMW International Open in
Munich with Sergio Garcia - I've played with a lot of world class
players (Mickelson, Els, Olazabal, Ballersteros, Woosnam, Lyle. Langer,
Montgomerie, Cabrera, Harrington, Casey, Karlsson, Kaye to name just a
few) but Garcias hits his irons so purely. No wonder that his fellow
pros name him one if not the best ball striker on tour.

Best
Wolf

Wolfgang

P.S. On Monday I fly to Ediburgh and drive to St. Andrews for the
British Open. After the Open I check out a new spectacular links course
near Inverness Stuart Castle and will play Royal Dornoch.. I do a lot of
travel features for some golf magazines.

Hi Martin,

I just wanted to give you a little feedback to the progress I have made with my swing.  I have been watching your YouTube videos, in conjunction with practicing with the Tour Striker Pro, and the results have been nothing short of phenomenal!  All in less than two weeks.

I have incorporated a mid body hands position in my set up, and practicing the Tour Striker Sand Drill has not only helped me quickly ingrain the proper feel for learning this new hand position, it has really helped improve my bunker game. Yesterday, I hit 18 of 20 sand shots that were (for me) perfect. I had one a little too thin that went way long and one that was fat and didn't get out. But the rest popped right out of the sand, nice and high with spin, and landed softly.  Like most amateurs, bunkers have been the bane of my golf game for a while. No longer!

Your Clubface Square at Address?? video was also extremely helpful.  I had been fighting a hook for a while, and felt (erroneously) that most of the problem was my tendancy to grip the club with a closed face.  So, I would try and make sure I gripped the club with the face square at address. Since I used to address the ball with "impact hands" I was really having difficulty making solid contact. Now I know why I would always hit my most solid shots when I worked on an intentional draw. I would close the clubface and aim a little to the right and hit the ball very solidly. Apparently, I was instinctively doing what you recommend in the video.

I still find that I can get an occasional big hook.  However, I now know that if I focus on swinging to the target, and make sure I get a good coil in my backswing, the ball goes in the direction I want with a nice little draw.

Thanks so much for the great training tool and all of the excellent information.  I can honestly say that, thanks to you, I am hitting the ball better than I ever have in my life, and have easily added 10-20 yards to every club in the bag.

Even more exciting is that my swing seems much more effortless and the trajectory of my shots is now similar to what I have observed (and envied) from better players.
